The soft spring rain today had me remembering this fast and fun session. The weather here in western PA can be a bit trying at times. One one hand you have the stunning sunsets (about half the year), and then the other hand, cloudy milk white skies the remainder of the year. Those sunsets hit at a specific time and you have to be ready to work. The cloudy skies can provide a nice filter to shoot anywhere at any time of day. Its all about timing, style, location, and preference. Either way…I got you.

The Echard Family had to get this shoot done. Big boy Nolan was turning ONE and we couldn’t wait. The forecast didn’t call for rain and then it just so happened to start sprinkling lightly as we started. We went over our plan in the studio and then we hit the field. Popping in and out made sense and it gave the break to fix themselves if needed. After us literally laughing our way through the family photos it was time to celebrate Nolan’s FIRST birthday with cake!

I CANNOT TELL YOU HAVE MUCH I LOVED THIS CAKE SMASH!! ADORABLE!! He brought his little stuffed puppy that he loves and also his BEST FRIEND Jimmy. Jimmy had a bath before photos but with the rain we had to just go with it! HAHA! He was a hoot! Running around and eating cake with his new bestie. I didn’t want to stop shooting this but sadly Nolan was done and we were all wet. The sprinkling of rain throughout this session just added to the magic and the story.

My girl Kelsey here is pregnant again and I couldn’t be more excited. Congratulations to their ENTIRE family and I’m so grateful Max and Kelsey continue to trust me with their celebrations!
